ALL ABOUT ME

Jessica Selig was born at the Birth Center in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on November 23, 1980. She grew up in Laverock, Pennsylvania with her dad, Robert Selig, MD, her mom, Candi Selig, RN; and her brother, Daniel Selig, MD. Selig attended Germantown Academy for her first 3 years of school and then transferred to Springfield Township High School.

Selig graduated high school in June of 1999 and attended The George Washington University from 1999-2003, and graduated in May 2003. Jessica began college as a Psychology major. By the end of her first semester at the University, she realized her future was in computers, specifically digital photography and imaging, and transferred into the Fine Arts program. Jessica's love of photography and art combined with a good knowledge of computer graphic arts programs enabled her to further her creative abilities.

In the Summer of 2001, Selig interned at the General Services Administration of the United States Government. In the Fall of 2002, she traveled abroad with a program called Semester at Sea. Jessica visited twelve different countries while circling the world in 100 days. She used this experience to advance her photographic knowledge and abilities, capturing the people and children of the world.

In May 2003, Selig graduated with honors in her major in Fine Arts from The George Washington University and received her BA in Fine Arts. In May 2005, Jessica graduated from The Antonelli Institute (Graphic Arts and Computer Graphics school), which helped further her knowledge of graphic design. Her first exhibit of her digital work was shown at The Philips Hall of GW in DC. She placed second in a graphic design contest at Antontelli Institute, and one of her pictures was chosen (out of 1000's of submissions) to be shown at the Kling Gallery in Philadelphia. In the Fall of 2004 and Spring of 2005, Selig's work was also displayed in the Rotunda Capital Building in Harrisburg. Her work was chosen to represent Antonelli at Disney World at a College Convention. Jessica's work was auctioned off and the money was used for a scholarship fund for future students. Recently, in Oct 2005, Selig's digital art and photographs were displayed at the opening of the Drizzle Gallery in Olde City, Philadelphia.

Jessica worked at Lafayette Hill Studios as a graphic designer, making brochures, logos, comp cards, and editing digital images. She also worked for Prudential Fox Roach and David's Bridal as a graphic designer and continues doing freelance work. She also is currently volunteering with JDRF-Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help with photographing their events, and helping with graphic design to create their invitations, Tribute journal, and so forth. Currently, Jessica is working as a Graphic Designer/Album designer for Phil Kramer of Phil Kramer Photographers. Please visit us at www.pkphoto.com.
